Congratulations to our Professional of the Year, Ricky Torres, Environmental Services Team Member at Water’s Edge Rehab & Nursing Center at Port Jefferson!

A prized team member at Water’s Edge, Torres has been a part of the Water’s Edge family for nearly six years, joining the community in October 2014.

Growing up in the Bronx, Torres learned at a young age the importance of working hard, keeping busy and focused, as well as building a strong work ethic. With this strong foundation, Torres brought these skills to Water’s Edge, always taking pride in his work.

“You have to do everything the right way first, I always want to go above and beyond,” Torres shared. “Since joining CareRite, and over the past year especially, we have a great team and a great work environment. The major key is having a great team.”

As a member of the Water’s Edge team, Torres shared that he has had the opportunity to learn, progress, and grow, working his way up from the Housekeeping department to his current role in Environmental Services, leading the community with his vital role of infection control in terms of environmental services.

“I am so honored and thankful, but I wouldn’t be here without my great team,” Torres expressed after it was shared that he was the third team member in the CareRite network nominated as Professional of the Year- putting Torres in the running for Professional of the Year. “I’m just thankful to be noticed for something like this.”
